Just when you thought you saw it all.
“Oops I did it again”, quickly became a tired, broken record of the then one time child star, Britney Spears whose footsteps were soon followed by her replacement, Miley Cyrus which began when public outrage exploded over a few benign pictures Ms. Cyrus posed for in an issue of Vanity Fair back in the year 2008. In order to retrieve the spot light following that incident, and in relentless pursuit for public praise, Americans watched the rise and fall of not only Ms. Spears, elder and younger, but also a multitude of other poptarts who raised the bar each time they hurdled over former taboos. Who could forget watching on national television the material wonder French kiss the material girl at the VMA Awards? If that wasn’t enough we then had a storm of tabloids showering the pages with a large number of celebrity DWI’s (Hollywood just loves their celebrities. The record holder for longest incarceration is still Paris Hilton) followed by an assortment of coiffed couche that made even Joe Francis blush (you remember him; the jailed Girls Gone Wild filmmaker).
We had thought the craze would die down after a period of reprival following when Miley Cyrus and her famous dad, Billie Ray both made public apology for Ms. Cyrus’ overexposure in a swift move designed to preserve her role as Disney’s tween idol Hannah Montana. It seemed to work for a while, since neither Miley nor Hannah was seen to be out, perhaps having been grounded. In a timely fashion Miley and Hannah reappeared first on Facebook, and then shortly took to adding a weekly video submission drawing large viewer ship. Disney took notice and both Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus were allowed out again having been quickly booked for their next tour.

No such luck.
The efforts to restore Miley’s reputation in less than a year proved to be in vain. Miley Cryus was growing up and Hannah Montana could not be kept down. Disappointed by low ratings and the lack of a sell out performance, Miley was caught literally with her pants down (though they were actually shorts) parading around with nothing on but Disney ears one night on the Santa Monica pier, a move her sponsor did not ignore this time around. In immediate reaction, Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana were released from their contracts citing breach. Because Ms. Cryus was underage and acted alone in the stunt, no legal action was taken but a stiff warning was reported before the public outcry began to pour in and Ms. Cyrus sent to the gallows.
Curtains for Hannah Montana and another rest period for Miley was believed to be the reason for the former star’s sudden disappearance. It wasn’t more than a few days before Disney released the news that Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray and Hannah Montana were no longer part of the family.
If They Could See Me Now.
Who would have thought that in a few short years, seven to be exact, a twenty something Miley Cyrus would step out and stop audiences worldwide once again, but this time it was on a different stage.
While Hannah Montana graces this month’s cover of Playboy Magazine, the spread (which does not cover any part of her person) is about four pages in total and shows a new side to the now nubile Miley Cyrus in her birthday suit. In the interview portion of the article, Miley is quoted as saying, “I was just tired of having to live up to the image of Hannah. She was a nice girl, so am I, but we’ve grown up so look at us now”.
Sales of the issue have exceeded a hundred million copies worldwide. Miley has outsold her last stage performance by over five million copies. Another record has been set, and Hugh Hefner, still clinging to life and this latest issue, couldn’t be any bigger.
