A former employee filed a law suit against his former employer, Kings & Gail Manufacturing Inc., an exporter of US made prosthetics, for wrongful termination of his position as a product line manager on October 20th. His identity has not been disclosed due to his lawyer’s request to protect his client’s privacy from the media. The plaintiff, who wore the John McCain Halloween mask, claims that he was a victim of discrimination on the basis of his political support for the Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain. The Halloween mask was taken by the employer but later retrieved by the plaintiff with the help of his lawyer for evidence purposes.

It has been rumored that his former employer has had history of political support to Democratic Congressional seats and has made multiple campaign donations to the party for the past ten years. The exact amount was not disclosed. The company refused any involvement. The president of the company claimed that the firing of the employee was not the company’s decision initially. It was the head of the department where the plaintiff had been assigned to who initially announced the termination. The company also claimed that they were notified of the termination and received a full report of the incident. The head of the department filed a report which was sent to the management. The report stated that the plaintiff was accused of subordination and had had a series of multiple company violations in the past, including showing for work intoxicated.
The representative for the plaintiff told the media that although the wearing of the John McCain Halloween mask was not mentioned on the report, witnesses claim that the head of the supervisor did ask for the removal of the mask as he forcefully explained the company’s policy of the “No Democratic Support Allowed” during work hours and while on the company’s premises.

Another employee of the company was interviewed, in which during the interview the employee was wearing the John McCain Halloween mask, regarding the company’s history on influencing its employees to vote for measures that the company favored or supported in the past. The interviewed employee, with name not be revealed, said that the company had even went as far as threatening some employees to comply and not express their opposition with the company’s views on politics and policies or their employment will be compromised.
Other employees have also collectively stepped forward and agreed for an interview with one condition, to also wear the John McCain Halloween mask during the interview to show their support for the Republican candidate.
